Wynn Resort opens the first casino in the Arabian Gulf in Ras Al Khaimah

Wynn Resort, which operates a resort in Ras Al Khaimah, has announced plans to open a casino in its UAE facility.

According to Craig Scott Billings, the CEO of Wynn, opening a casino in the Arabian Gulf would be a first and would re-launch the discussion on gambling in Dubai and the Emirates.

Opening a casino in a country subject to Islamic law would be a step forward in the issue of gambling in the Gulf countries

This would also be a first in the Emirates and could open the country to a whole new clientele fond of Casino.

With competition from countries such as Saudi Arabia, which are considering softening their casino laws, the United Arab Emirates is considering legalizing gambling, which has been banned until now because of Sharia law.

Caesars Palace and MGM Resorts both have properties in Dubai, but they do not have a casino.

If Wynn takes the step in the small United Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah it could force the more famous states like Dubai or Abu Dhabi to adapt their legislation.
